Our Favorite Christmas Cookies

Christmas is the ultimate season for baking and sharing cookies!

The popularity of Christmas Cookie Recipes is undeniable.

If you have any doubt about the popularity of Christmas Holiday Cookies just take a look the covers of cooking magazines this time of year and you are sure to see cookies prominently featured.

Even people who do very little baking the rest of the year often bake a favorite Christmas cookie recipe or two.

And when prompted, most everyone has a special holiday cookie story to share.

Christmas cookies are so much more than simple sweet baked treats.

They are gifts of love that help connect us to our past through the power of memory and tradition and let people know how special they are.

Baking Christmas Cookies

I've been baking Christmas Holiday Cookies since I was a kid. It doesn't really feel like Christmas to me until the cookie cutters come out and the kitchen counters are full of tins and trays of cookies for eating and sharing.

Baking Holiday Cookies is a great way to resurrect happy childhood memories of simpler times, keep important traditions alive, and spend some quality time with your children or grandchildren.

I always make several kinds of Holiday Cookies including:

I bake many of these favorite cookies only once a year, at holiday time, making them even more special.

But I keep the warm Christmas Cookie feeling alive all year by collecting tins, cookie cutters, and Christmas Cookie Exchange party decorations when I see them.
