The Original M&M Cookies Recipe
Basically, an M&M cookie is just chocolate chip cookie dough with M&Ms instead of chocolate chips, but somehow they seem a lot more fun and festive than regular chocolate chip cookies. For years I baked these M&M cookies at Christmas using red and green M&Ms and everyone loved them. Now that M&Ms are available in colors appropriate for most all the holidays - red and white at Valentine's Day, pastels at Easter - you can make this original M&M cookie recipe your go-to holiday cookie recipe using the holiday M&Ms appropriate to the season. There are lots of different flavors to try to - think dark chocolate M&Ms, mint M&Ms, peanut butter M&Ms, just to name a few. You can also use smaller M&M baking bits that would work well in this cookie recipe. Food fads come and go but the timeless classics like this original M&M cookie recipe is here to stay. Some things, like M&Ms, never go out of style! Cookies made with butter will spread more and be crisper; those made with shortening will hold their shape better and stay softer. I like to use a combination of 1/2 butter and 1/2 shortening when baking my M&M cookies. Original M&M Cookies Recipe

Testimonials"I have been researching and trying a number of recipes to make a healthy cookie similar to one that our Gym coffee shop sells for $3.50! This particular recipe was adapted so instead of bars I made thick round cookies and cooked them just underdone so they were soft and chewy. They were a hit with all the girls. Thanks for the great recipe." |

I have been making and baking cookies with M&Ms for decades. I discovered the recipe on the back of the M&M bag when I was a kid and have been making them ever since.
