EatingWell Magazine editors will judge original cookie recipes on healthfulness, creativity, taste and practicality. Practicality will be based on efficiency, ease of preparation, expense and availability of ingredients and supplies, among other factors.

Wilton 2008 Cookie Decorating Contest

How it works:

1. Create and decorate the cookie of your dreams!
2. Submit the best photo of your decorated cookie.
3. Invite your friends and family to vote!
4. Each week, 1 Wilton Choice Winner (determined by a panel of qualified Wilton judges and based on the cookie appearance, creativity, and use of decorations) and 2 People's Choice Winners (determined by which cookie receives the most votes) will win prizes and will qualify to win Grand Prizes, including a trip for 4 to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

2009 Hallmark Magazine Holiday Cookie Contest

If you have a special cookie that you love to bake (especially during the holiday season or that you like to give as gifts) and that has a personal story behind it's creation, then you should enter this contest!

How it works:
Send your favorite holiday cookie recipe, along with with story behind this special recipe. Hallmark Magazine wants to hear why this cookie is important to you. Has it been handed down to you from an earlier generation? Or is this a new tradition that you and your family have created? Or is there some other reason that this cookie has special meaning for you?

Judges will pick the 10 most interesting cookies and stories, and the winners will be announced on March 1, 2009.

Country Home is looking for your favorite original holiday cookie recipe for their Holiday 2009 Cookie Contest, along with a short write-up (200 words or less) telling them why it's a family favorite.

Prizes: The six (6) winners will receive a Professional 5-qt. Stand Mixer from Viking, approximate retail value ("ARV") $400; a Jumbo Baking Basket from Williams-Sonoma, "ARV" $300; and a Cookie-Baking Gift Basket from King Arthur Flour, "ARV" $150.

2009 EatingWell Holiday Cookie Contest

How it works:
EatingWell is currently looking for healthy and delectable holiday cookie recipes for a "Cookie Swap" article to appear in the November/December 2009 issue of EatingWell magazine.

Take one of your favorite cookie recipes and give it a healthy makeover (see official contest guidelines).

EatingWell will then bake them up in their Test Kitchen and select one Grand Prize winner and five runner-ups.

The Grand Prize winner will receive a $2,000 "Baker's Dream Kitchen" gift certificate from Cooking.com. The five runner-ups will each receive a $200 gift certificate from Cooking.com.

World's Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition

On opening day, 5 finalists bake 1,000 cookies each and serve them in the village at 2:00pm until supplies run out.
