Chocolate Oatmeal Bars with Crushed Heath Bars Recipe

  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1 package (11 1/2 ounces) milk chocolate chips
  • 2/3 cup chunky peanut butter
  • 4 Heatch candy bars (1.4 ounces each), crushed
  1. Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Grease a 13x9-inch baking pan and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in corn syrup and vanilla extract.
  4. Stir in oats.
  5. Press batter into prepared baking pan creating an even layer.
  6. Bake at 350F degrees for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Remove pan from oven and cool on wire rack.
  8. In a medium microwavable bowl, melt chocolate chips and peanut butter in the microwave. Stir constantly until well blended.
  9. Spread the melted chocolate and peanut butter mixture over the cooled oat layer.
  10. Sprinkle crushed Heath candy on top.
  11. Chill in refrigerator until set.
  12. Cut into desired size bars.

This recipe makes about 3 dozen Chocolate Oatmeal Bars.
